Becoming Accredited

"Those AMCs who were accredited stood out from the rest. It would seem that your accreditation process is one that separates the best from the better."

— Daniel Coury, MD, President,
Society for Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics,
Columbus, OH (AMC Client)

Members of AMC Institute have developed a Standard of Good Practices for the Association Management Industry. The AMC Institute Standard assists professional Association Management Companies (AMCs) in the establishment of its own internal quality service system. The AMC Institute AMC Standard will be used as the source document for the AMC Institute Accreditation Program.

An AMC that can demonstrate that it has adopted and utilized internal quality service systems shall be eligible to apply for AMC Institute Accreditation.

The AMC Institute Standard is not intended to obstruct but rather encourage the development of improved management practices. AMCs are expected to request appropriate revisions to the Standard as they become identified.

The Standard is intended to create a message that communicates to the AMC’s present and prospective clients and the marketplace that the accredited AMC has demonstrated the commitment and the ability to deliver service to its clients through conformance to the AMC Institute AMC Standard.

Policies and procedures (systems) are necessary for the following AMC Performance Service areas:

  • Client Contracts: Review Procedures and Requirements
  • Servicing the Client and Service Delivery Procedures
  • Project (Service) Completion, Reviews, and Post Contractual Procedures
  • Financial Management and Internal Controls
  • Insurance Coverage
  • Employee Recruitment and Selection
  • Employee Training and Professional Development Procedures
  • Subcontracting and Purchasing Requirements
  • Record Keeping Requirements
  • Internal and External Review Requirements
